Many people are resorting to using paper bags but, are paper bags really better than plastic bags? The answer is that a paper and plastic have approximately the same advantages and disadvantages. Although paper degrades a little faster than a plastic bag, paper bags take a lot more space in landfills than plastic bags. This is because, that paper bags are more bulkier than plastic bags. Plastic Bags only take up 0.4% but, they pollute more. Paper bags take up 1.0% of landfills but, they pollute the same amount as plastic bags because of their huge amounts. Which one should we choose? Neither. Only cloth or canvas bags can save the world.
