The Economic Hazards of Plastic Bags

Economics

Plastic bags are becoming a huge economic problem. To create one ton of them, it takes $4,000. In a more larger scale, it takes $4,000,000,000 to create a 100,000,000,000 of them. Since a ton only sells for a few hundred dollars, plastic bag vendors are not gaining anything by producing them.
It is also effecting our fossil fuel supply too. China has wasted over 37 million barrels of fossil fuel before banning them.
Many countries are trying to take steps toward banning them but, only a handful of cities in the United States are trying to do anything about them. In fact, the United States alone uses 380-400 million plastic bags annually.
